After a powerful performance at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA), Max is now stepping up to the GT4 America grid with Van Der Steur Racing (VDSR), where he will team up with rising star Luca Mars for the next round at Sebring International Raceway.
🔹 COTA Recap: A Statement Weekend in Austin
At COTA, Max Hewitt delivered two standout drives in the GT America powered by AWS series behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo.
- Race 1: Max led from the green flag and built a strong gap until GT3 traffic slowed his pace, allowing the field to close in. On the final lap, a defensive error opened the door for McIntosh to slip by and steal the win, placing Max in a hard-earned P2.
- Race 2: Max came back with a vengeance, launching cleanly from the line and maintaining a consistent gap to P2 throughout the race. McIntosh momentarily got within a second, but Max held his nerve and extended the lead to take a commanding win.
Following the COTA weekend, Hewitt and McIntosh are now tied for the championship lead, setting the stage for a thrilling title battle.
🚀 GT4 America Debut with VDSR and Luca Mars
Max’s continued progression has earned him a place in the prestigious GT4 America championship, which features longer-format, two-driver endurance races. He will share driving duties with Luca Mars, a 2006-born standout who has competed in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and GT World Challenge America.
Together, Max and Luca will field the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo for VDSR as they make their debut as a duo at the legendary Sebring International Raceway.
