“We were able to learn the track quickly and be a consistent second and third fastest throughout the practices”
Miles Hewitt, MPH Racing & CRG Tesoro Race Works Driver
Roundup of the Second Round of FWT at Piquet Race Park
The MPH Racing team recently competed in the RokCup USA Florida Winter Tour, with the CRG Tesoro Raceworks team where they faced off against some tough competition. Miles Hewitt, one of the team’s drivers, shared his thoughts on the event, saying that while things didn’t go exactly as planned, he was proud of the team’s performance overall.
Hewitt learned the track quickly, and they were consistently among the fastest drivers in practice. Unfortunately, a mistake during qualifying put Miles in sixth place on the grid, but he was determined to make up ground in the heats.
Miles finished third in the first and third heats despite a crash in the second heat. However, a collision in the prefinal put him at the back of the field, and he could only make it up to eighth place in the final.
Looking Ahead to Future Races
While the team didn’t come away with a podium finish in Florida, they’re already looking ahead to future races and working hard to improve their performance. The next event on their schedule is round 3 at the RokCup USA Florida Winter Tour, which will take place mid-March.
The MPH Racing Team is confident that they’ll be able to build on their experience in Florida and put in a strong showing in round 3. With talented support leading the way for Miles this year, there’s no doubt he won’t get another opportunity at a podium.
